Songwriting mayhem

It has been a long journey preparing songs for my worship cd. Many
long days and late late nights (last night until 2 am). Over which
time my iPhone (recorder), Garage Band, and my guitar have been my
best friends. Today I'll be in the studio doing pre-production for 8
songs and recording scratch tracks. I already recorded 3 sobgs a few
months ago. I've spent many days and hours pouring over chord
progressions, melodies, and arraingements. For me writing a song is as
time consuming as writing a sermon (15 hours or so). I recently read a
book called "God Songs" and was so blessed to learn that some of the
best worship songs around today took years to complete. I thought if
you were a songwriter God just delivered heavenly songs with melodies
and lyrics in a tightly wrapped package in moments. In fact, it's more
of a craft and an art that takes time, dedication, and prayer.
Ultimately this project is His! My prayer is that these songs
facilitate our hearts longing cries to worship and ascribe worth to
our Eternal God.
